Homemade Raw Vegan Chocolate
This homemade raw vegan chocolate is rich, silky-smooth, and made with only natural, unprocessed ingredients. It's perfect for a healthy indulgence, plus it’s dairy-free, refined sugar-free, and packed with antioxidants.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup raw cacao powder
- 1/2 cup coconut oil melted
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional add-ins:
- Chopped nuts almonds, pecans, walnuts
- Dried fruit cranberries, goji berries
- Chia seeds or hemp seeds
- Shredded coconut
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together melted coconut oil, maple syrup (or agave), vanilla extract, and sea salt until fully combined.
- Sift in the raw cacao powder to remove any lumps, and whisk until smooth and glossy.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into silicone molds or a lined small baking tray.
- If desired, sprinkle with your favorite toppings like nuts, seeds, or dried fruit.
- Place in the freezer for 30-45 minutes or until solid.
- Remove from molds and store chocolates in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.
Notes
Coconut oil melts at warm temperatures; keep chocolates chilled until ready to serve.
Use raw cacao powder (not cocoa powder) to maintain the "raw" status and antioxidant benefits.
You can adjust sweetness to taste by adding a bit more maple syrup if desired.
