Homemade Seasoning Blends
Create your own healthy and delicious seasoning blends at home. Control the ingredients, reduce sodium, and customize flavors to your liking.
Ingredients
All-Purpose Seasoning
- 2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon celery seed
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
Italian Seasoning
- 2 tablespoons dried basil
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried marjoram
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
Chili Powder
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper Add for heat
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine all ingredients for the desired seasoning blend.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
Notes
Adjust the amounts of spices to your personal preferences. For a salt-free version, omit salt and use salt-free herbs and spices.
