Health-Conscious Blackberry Slice
A guilt-free blackberry slice packed with wholesome ingredients. Perfect for a light dessert or snack.

Ingredients
Crust
- 1.5 cup almond flour Finely ground
- 0.25 cup coconut oil Unrefined
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup Pure maple syrup
- 0.25 teaspoon sea salt Fine grain
Filling
- 4 cup fresh blackberries Washed and dried
- 0.5 cup unsweetened applesauce No sugar added
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds For thickening
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed
- 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and sea salt. Mix well until a dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, prepare the filling. In a separate bowl, combine blackberries, applesauce, chia seeds, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes to allow the chia seeds to thicken the mixture.
- Pour the blackberry filling over the pre-baked crust.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes, or until the filling is set and bubbly.
- Let the blackberry slice cool completely before cutting into squares. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours for best results.
