Instructions
Slice the ripe bananas and freeze them for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
Place the frozen banana slices into a food processor.
Add maple syrup and vanilla extract (if using) to the food processor.
4 ripe bananas,
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Process until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. This may take a few minutes.
Add the chopped walnuts and pulse a few times to incorporate them into the ice cream.
For a firmer consistency, transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for another 30-60 minutes.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Adjust the amount of maple syrup to your desired sweetness. For a richer flavor, toast the walnuts before chopping.
