Double Chocolate Date Balls

These rich, fudgy date balls are naturally sweetened and packed with chocolate flavor. A quick no-bake treat made with wholesome ingredients—perfect for a healthy dessert or snack.

Ingredients
  

  • - 1 cup Medjool dates pitted (about 10–12 dates)
  • - 1/2 cup raw almonds or walnuts
  • - 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • - 2 tbsp dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • - 1 tbsp chia seeds or flaxseed meal
  • - 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • - Optional: 1–2 tbsp water as needed
  • Coating optional:
  • - Additional cocoa powder
  • - Shredded coconut
  • - Crushed nuts

Instructions
 

  • Soften the Dates
  • If dates are dry, soak in warm water for 5–10 minutes, then drain.
  • Blend the Mixture
  • In a food processor, pulse nuts until crumbly. Add dates, cocoa, chocolate, seeds, salt, and vanilla. Blend until sticky and combined. Add water only if needed for blending.
  • Roll into Balls
  • Scoop out heaping teaspoons and roll into balls using your hands.
  • Optional Coating
  • Roll balls in cocoa powder, coconut, or nuts for extra texture and flavor.
  • Chill and Store
  • Place in the fridge to firm up for 15–30 minutes. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
