Add the rinsed wild rice, vegetable broth, thyme, salt, and pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 35-40 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has opened up.
Stir in the almond milk and nutritional yeast (if using). Heat through gently, but do not boil. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Notes
For a thicker soup, blend a cup of the soup before adding the almond milk. You can also add other vegetables like mushrooms or spinach.
