Sesame Ginger Tofu
Crispy tofu coated in a flavorful sesame ginger sauce, perfect for a healthy and delicious meal.

Ingredients
Tofu
- 14 oz extra-firm tofu pressed
Sesame Ginger Sauce
- 3 tbsp soy sauce low sodium
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp grated ginger fresh
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
Coating
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 0.1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess water. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, combine cornstarch, sesame seeds, and salt.
- Toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the tofu is cooking, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked tofu and cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened and coats the tofu.
- Serve the sesame ginger tofu hot with rice or noodles and your favorite vegetables.
Notes
For extra crispy tofu, you can bake the tofu in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes instead of pan-frying.
