Perfectly Baked Tofu

- 1 Baking Sheet Use a large baking sheet to spread the tofu in a single layer.
- 1 Parchment Paper Prevents the tofu from sticking to the baking sheet.
Ingredients
Tofu
- 14 oz Extra-firm tofu Pressed to remove excess water.
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce Low sodium option recommended.
- 1 tablespoon Sesame oil Adds a nutty flavor.
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Helps create a crispy texture.
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Adds savory flavor.
- 0.5 teaspoon Ginger powder Adds warmth and spice.
- 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes For a touch of heat.
Instructions
- Wrap the tofu in paper towels and place a heavy object on top (like a book or cast iron skillet) for at least 30 minutes to remove excess water. The drier the tofu, the crispier it will get.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the pressed tofu into cubes or desired shapes.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce (or tamari), sesame oil, cornstarch (or arrowroot powder), garlic powder, ginger powder, and red pepper flakes (if using). - Spread the marinated tofu in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
For extra crispy tofu, press the tofu for a longer period. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or in stir-fries, salads, or bowls.
