Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup Whole Wheat Flour For a healthier option
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 0.5 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened Applesauce Adds moisture and sweetness
  • 0.25 cup Maple Syrup Natural sweetener
  • 0.25 cup Olive Oil Healthy fat
  • 2 Eggs Room temperature
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Apples

  • 2 cup Apples Peeled and cored

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
    1.5 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1 tsp Baking Soda, 0.5 tsp Baking Powder, 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • In a separate bowl, combine the applesauce, maple syrup, olive oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
    0.25 tsp Salt, 0.5 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 0.25 cup Maple Syrup
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
    1.5 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 0.25 tsp Salt
  • Gently fold in the diced apples.
    0.25 cup Olive Oil
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
