Healthy Whole Wheat Apple Cake

Dry Ingredients
- 1.5 cup Whole Wheat Flour For a healthier option
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 0.5 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp Salt
Wet Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Unsweetened Applesauce Adds moisture and sweetness
- 0.25 cup Maple Syrup Natural sweetener
- 0.25 cup Olive Oil Healthy fat
- 2 Eggs Room temperature
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Apples
- 2 cup Apples Peeled and cored
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.1.5 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1 tsp Baking Soda, 0.5 tsp Baking Powder, 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- In a separate bowl, combine the applesauce, maple syrup, olive oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.0.25 tsp Salt, 0.5 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 0.25 cup Maple Syrup
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.1.5 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 0.25 tsp Salt
- Gently fold in the diced apples.0.25 cup Olive Oil
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
