Healthy Homemade Seasoning Mixes (Ranch, Taco, Dry Onion Soup)
Make your own clean, preservative-free seasonings at home! These healthy seasoning blends are perfect for cooking, snacking, and meal prepping — naturally flavorful without unnecessary additives.
Ingredients
- Healthy Ranch Seasoning Mix:
- 5 tablespoons dried minced onions
- 7 teaspoons parsley flakes
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Healthy Taco Seasoning:
- 1/2 cup chili powder
- 1/4 cup onion powder
- 1/8 cup ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- Dry Onion Soup Mix:
- 2/3 cup dried minced onion
- 3 teaspoons parsley flakes
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons turmeric
- 1 teaspoon celery salt
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- To Make Ranch Seasoning:
- Combine dried minced onions, parsley flakes, salt, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Store in an airtight container.
- For ranch dressing: Mix 2 tablespoons dry mix with 1 cup mayonnaise + 1 cup buttermilk or sour cream.
- For ranch dip: Mix 2 tablespoons dry mix with 2 cups sour cream.
- Chill a few hours before serving for best flavor.
- To Make Taco Seasoning:
- Add chili powder, onion powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, and sea salt to a jar.
- Shake well to combine.
- Store sealed in a dry, cool place.
- Use 2 tablespoons per pound of ground meat, beans, or vegetables.
- To Make Dry Onion Soup Mix:
- Mix all ingredients together in a jar.
- Shake the jar thoroughly to mix.
- Use 4 tablespoons in recipes in place of one store-bought soup packet.
- Store in a dry, cool place and shake before each use.
Notes
All seasonings can be stored for up to 6 months in a sealed container.
Customize the blends: add cayenne for heat, or reduce salt for a lower-sodium version.
