Healthy Fudgy Brownies
Delicious and guilt-free fudgy brownies made with whole wheat flour and natural sweeteners.

Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour Provides fiber and nutrients.
- 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Adds rich chocolate flavor.
- 0.5 tsp baking soda Helps the brownies rise.
- 0.25 tsp salt Enhances the flavors.
Wet Ingredients
- 0.5 cup unsweetened applesauce Replaces some of the fat.
- 0.25 cup coconut oil Adds moisture and healthy fats.
- 0.5 cup maple syrup Natural sweetener.
- 2 eggs Adds structure and richness.
- 1 tsp vanilla extract Enhances the flavor.
Optional
- 0.25 cup chocolate chips Add to the batter or sprinkle on top.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.1 cup whole wheat flour, 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 0.5 tsp baking soda, 0.25 tsp salt
- In a large bowl, combine applesauce, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.0.5 cup unsweetened applesauce, 0.25 cup coconut oil, 0.5 cup maple syrup, 2 eggs
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If using, fold in chocolate chips.1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips. Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
