Healthy Chocolate Fudge

- 1 8x8 inch baking pan Lined with parchment paper
- 1 Double boiler or heat-safe bowl and saucepan
Ingredients
Base
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder high quality
- 0.5 cup coconut oil melted
- 0.5 cup maple syrup pure
- 0.25 cup almond butter smooth
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
- 1 pinch sea salt
Optional toppings
- Chopped nuts walnuts, pecans, or almonds
- Dried fruit cranberries or cherries
- Shredded coconut unsweetened
Instructions
- If your coconut oil is solid, melt it in a microwave or double boiler.
- In a double boiler or heat-safe bowl set over a simmering pot of water, combine melted coconut oil, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Stir until smooth and well combined.
- If desired, stir in or sprinkle your favorite toppings over the fudge mixture.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
- Once firm, remove the fudge from the pan and cut into squares. Enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
