  • 1 Double boiler or heat-safe bowl and saucepan

Ingredients
  

Base

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder high quality
  • 0.5 cup coconut oil melted
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup pure
  • 0.25 cup almond butter smooth
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Optional toppings

  • Chopped nuts walnuts, pecans, or almonds
  • Dried fruit cranberries or cherries
  • Shredded coconut unsweetened

Instructions
 

  • If your coconut oil is solid, melt it in a microwave or double boiler.
  • In a double boiler or heat-safe bowl set over a simmering pot of water, combine melted coconut oil, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  • If desired, stir in or sprinkle your favorite toppings over the fudge mixture.
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
  • Once firm, remove the fudge from the pan and cut into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
