Healthier Fudgy Avocado Brownies
These fudgy avocado brownies are a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional brownies. The avocado adds moisture and richness without the need for excess butter or oil.

Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado, mashed Make sure it is smooth!
- 0.5 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 0.25 cup maple syrup Or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 0.5 cup whole wheat flour Or gluten-free blend
- 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips Optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the avocado until smooth. Add applesauce, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.1 ripe avocado, mashed, 0.5 cup unsweetened applesauce, 0.25 cup maple syrup

- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips (if using).0.5 teaspoon baking soda
- Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
