Ingredients
Tofu
- 14 oz extra-firm tofu pressed to remove excess water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Sauce
- 0.25 cup honey or maple syrup for vegan option
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated freshly grated
- 1 clove garlic, minced

- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions

- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Alternatively, bake the tofu on a baking sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked tofu and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and coats the tofu. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey. Serve with brown rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
