These homemade healthy chocolate bounty bars are a delicious and guilt-free treat. Made with simple ingredients, they are perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Equipment
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 Baking Sheet
- 1 Parchment Paper
Ingredients
Coconut Filling
- 1.5 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
- 0.25 cup coconut cream
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- salt Pinch
Chocolate Coating
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips 70% cacao or higher
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil optional
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut, coconut cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until a sticky dough forms.
- Take about 2 tablespoons of the coconut mixture and shape it into small, rectangular bars. Place the bars on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place the baking sheet with the coconut bars in the freezer for at least 15 minutes to firm up.
- While the coconut bars are freezing, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Remove the coconut bars from the freezer and dip each bar into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Place the coated bars back on the parchment paper.
- Return the baking sheet with the chocolate-covered bars to the freezer for another 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely.
- Remove the bars from the freezer and enjoy! Store any leftovers in the refrigerator or freezer.
Notes
For a richer chocolate flavor, use 85% cacao dark chocolate. You can also add a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the chocolate before it sets for a salty-sweet treat.
